09: Questions to ask your AV Provider/Partner
In this episode I will be talking about ways of getting the most out of your AV partner, I will be discussing AV RFPs or proposals, what it takes to hire an AV supplier or vendor and what questions would you be asking when partnering with a new AV provider. While AV provider is used quite a lot in the industry, I like to refer to this title as AV partner, because what you really want out of this relationship is a partnership, you want someone that will have your back and look out for you, will understand your vision, will work tirelessly towards accomplishing your goals, and will basically provide more than just AV.
05: Five Tips for staying healthy during the busy Event Season [BONUS]
The levels of stress an event professional goes through are pretty incredible. CareerCast made event planning the 4th most stressful job of the year. 4th most stressful, right after Airline Pilots, Police officers and broadcasters. While everybody in the industry (me included) goes through this especially during our busiest of seasons when we’re not just planning and producing one event, but many back to back events we all seem so focused on our work and tend to forget about the body that keeps everything going. And so, if this bonus episode will help you take one of the five tips shared and implement it as a healthy habit, my mission will be accomplished.

Studies have shown that the use of AV in classrooms is highly effective as it stimulates the class better which results in improved learning and higher grades for students. The same is true for all types of events that require audience connection and participation. So let’s explore why AV is so important for events in this episode!
01: Introductions – Event AV & Lighting, Demystified
I can’t believe that weeks and months of planning and strategizing have led to my very first podcast! I’m super excited to be bringing this content to you! My goal and desire over the years has always been to empower you: the event planners, the event coordinators, the executive assistants, the development directors, the marketing relation coordinators, the special event associates, the events ambassadors – you name it, basically anyone that has ever planned an event (aside from their birthday party) and whom at one time or another had to make some big decisions regarding technology and event audio-visual. I think they’re so much to be learned and my goal is to give you one extra tool in that shiny toolbox of yours that you go-to day in, day out in your everyday hussle in this world called: events. And while that’s quite a broad term, my goal is to give you enough relevant information that can be applied across most common type of events: from conferences to corporate events, to fundraisers, to team-building and executive retreats type of events. Each episode we will touch on a topic related to technical planning, audio-visual and lighting management and productions of events.
I’m super excited to kick this off and I sure hope you’re coming along!
